It inspired me to extend the idea a bit for our upcoming beach wedding. Before the ceremony, I'll invite our 10 family members to choose one shell to represent themselves and one more for each of our deceased or otherwise not present special family members to be placed on top of our combined sand as their way of blessing our marriage and always being with us. I thought this would be an active way for our familes to participate, to do the community commitment part of most ceremonies, while honoring those who are no longer with us and those who could not attend but support us nevertheless.
What might be some appropriate wording for our officiant to read during this extension of the sand ceremony?
Many thanks for your suggestions! [:)]
