Hi ladies... I really need your help... Im having a crisis... My fiance's family is pretty much paying for everything... My parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner, 1/3 of videographer, flower arrangements, and trying to do non-monetary stuff to help out as well. They really ARE trying. This is literally all they can afford to do without asking my mom to go get a job to help pay for the wedding. I am very grateful for what my bride-to-be's parents are doing, but my fiance is making me feel horrible about everything. Or about the 'lack' of contribution from my family. Anytime I try to talk with her about it and explain my familys situation (which she is very well aware of), she accuses me of sticking up for my family and siding with them instead of standing up for my bride. She says I should stick up for her no matter what because she's going to be my wife. There's a lot more details than mentioned here, and my mom HAS done some stupid stuff (never with ill-intention, just out of oblivion), but this is the nutshell version of it. I am stuck in the middle of something and my stomach will not stop turning for a second. Please offer some advice... My life sucks right now.

Dear Matthew,

I'm sorry about your stomach and life right now.

Perhaps it would be best if you asked your fiance to read our many posts. Parents are not financially responsible for their children's weddings these days. You two are entirely responsible. So, if she thinks her parents are paying for too much of the wedding, then perhaps you two could pay for more of it.

Even if this was a traditional wedding of the past, your parents are paying for their share.

Best wishes,
