Invitation wording for spa theme

I am the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding. After discussing themes with the bride, we decided we will do a spa theme. I am looking into booking some time at a local spa. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I can say in the invitations. I read somewhere that I can mention for everyone to bring $25 or something for a spa treatment (I could send a pamphlet of the services the spa provides and prices...). Is it tacky to ask them to pay for their own treatment? I will be paying for a treatment for the bride and the spa will provide snacks and drinks, which I will also pay for. Because spa treatments can be pricey and the bride is inviting 13 people (though only 7 are expected to be able to make it), there's no way I could ever afford to pay for a treatment for everyone.

Also, any ideas on what I could give as party favours (home-made would be nice).

Thanks!

Kristi

Dear Kristi,

Hopefully you are talking about a bachelorette party and not a shower. Shower guests don't pay anything. Guests to a bachelorette typically know they are paying their own way and part of the bride's. The bride doesn't invite anyone to either of these events. She may offer a guest list for consideration. But, she cannot invite.

You would include a pamphlet of services with the invitations. This is expected. Ask for guests to RSVP verbally so you can tell them when you need the money, if that is the case.

Party favors are not necessary for the bachelorette.

Best wishes,
