Hair extensions for my wedding day

I would love to wear my hair down on my wedding day. Currently, my hair is just past my shoulders and I still have a few months to go before the wedding (not until November). I really want my hair to be long and full and was thinking about possibly looking into extensions.

My hair is naturally full, so perhaps I won't need to consider this option as the date gets closer, but I had a few questions.

I have never had hair extensions before, how do they work? Will I have to wear them for an extended length of time (like throughout the honeymoon)? What do they typically cost? How do you get the extension to match your hair color? How long does the process take to have them put on? How do I shop for it? Do most salons offer this?

Thank you in advance!

Lots of good questions! If you just need length and not fullness then you won't need as many put in. Price depends on if the extensions are real hair or synthetic, your area and demand, how long you want them and the type of ones you get. Some are glued in and some are sewn in. Tiny corn row type braids are put in as "tracks" and the extensions are sewn in with thread and needle to the tracks. These are the best and most expensive and will last months-through the honeymoon. Glue on lasts but not as long and may fall out. Clip in hair is something you can do yourself but it is usually fake hair and the color match may not be best. Sewn in with real hair is best and they will dye it to match yours if necessary. prices start at $300 but call around to as many places as you can and ask a lot of questions. I have put in hair just for the day using just a few tracks to get the perfect updo but if you want to wear it down you want it done right!
