I have a problem with my future MIL dress. She tried it on for me and I must say the amount of cleavage is, how should I say, abundant. Not that it looks really bad, actually at first I thought it was really, really nice. But I don't fell that her healthy lungs should distract from the occasion. How can I get this across to her to be able to deflate the situation.

Mother of the Bride Dress Has Excessive Cleavage

Dear EdTarboosh,
I agree that this isn't appropriate and a problem that I am finding in every little nook and cranny of our society. In the business world it is a huge distraction.
This is a very touchy issue. So, perhaps you could inform her that you were reading our site and found that mothers should dress conservatively. Maybe by taking your opinion out of the equation it wouldn't seem as if you were judging her.
Best wishes,

Deflate the subject? Heh, good one!
I agree with Rebecca. Mother's shouldn't be taking attention off the bride. There are tons of dress styles out there that are beautiful and flattering without being suggestive or too sexy. If you have trouble communicating this to her maybe your groom could speak to his dad and the dad could speak to the mom.
