Please help, I don't know how to word my invitation. I am planning an outdoor ceremony on the grounds of a historical college campus, with the reception following in one of the buildings on the campus. The campus is very small (only about the size of a small city block) with only 4 bulidings. We are not sure where we will set up the ceremony, but I don't know if this is a huge issue, since the campus is so small. Do I need to list that it is an outdoor ceremony or can I just say that the wedding will be held on the Campus?

Also, since the reception is on the same campus, just in one of the buildings, do I need to list name of the hall, or can I just say "Dinner and Reception to follow"?

Dear Justmstry,

Just stating that it will be on campus should be fine as long as you will have something in place to direct your wandering guests to the ceremony site. If you know exactly where you will be, you could include a little note informing them.

As long as you have someone directing your guests to the proper hall, stating that a reception will follow would be fine.

Best wishes,
