Selecting a photographer

I am really struggling on picking a wedding photographer. We are getting married in Maui this October, and while I can find numerous sites of photographers, I was wondering if there are any sites with ratings and reviews of photographers. That would be extremely helpful in making my decision.

I don;t know of any sites that have ratings or reviews but even if I did I would not recommend them. You just never know what the motivation for the rating or review is. For example, a bride may rate a photographer as really talented but this is her idea of what talented means and may not be yours. The rating could be done by a competitor. See where I'm going with this?
