My daughter is getting married June 22, 2007, so this decision has to be made this week. My daughter has decided she wants pink in her wedding bouquet. When she first spoke to the florist they decided on the following flowers: white cymbidium orchids (with the wine centers), esperance roses, lianthus, pink rununculus, and green hypernicum berries. Since that time she has decided not to go with the esperance roses because they are too yellow and her dress is diamond white with a silver lace overlay on the bodice. The florist has told her to go out and find a rose she likes. We are not certain what roses would go well with the other flowers in the bouquet. Can you make some suggestions. Should she add any other flowers or eliminate any that have already been decided on. Also how should the bridesmaid's bouquets differ from hers. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I will suggest you re-examine the Esperance rose...it's a unique beauty and I think your florist was on the right track! You could use ranuculas in a pure white to play off the diamond white gown and underplay the warmer white of the roses. You will get the bridal blending and a great look that way. You also may have seen the Esperance roses in the winter when flowers tend to ripen less white than they will be in warmer weather.

I would say go with the Esperance but do some transposing of the colors...Lisianthus comes in a many great shades of pink,so do ranuculas. Both could help the blending as they both come in pure white as well.

If you just dont want Esperance, a good white ( but still tending toward cream, (they all do) is Akito or eskimo. You can probably also switch from roses to peonies that time of the year which would also be lovley.

Good luck and have a beautiful wedding.

Thank you for your suggestions. We had actually never thought of going with a white rose. We had chosen the esperance orse because of the pink tips and the greenish tinge which would help bring out the green hypernicum berries. You can suggest any pink roses that might fit with the combination. My daughter really likes pink.

Thank you once again for your help.

[:)]There are literally hundereds of different pinks. Look at Vanity, Livia, Pavarotti, Eliza and Ravel for a start. ( You can probably Google the colors.) Most Florists with wholesale suppliers that have a certain selection available. It varies from region to region.

Go back to your designer and ask for the shade of pink you want. Hot, light , bright, soft...You can get just about anything. You should try to provide a fabric swatch or anything that will show her the color you want. It's too bad she left you on your own to find the rose. I suspect what she needs is to see the color you have decided to use. Figure that out and let her find the best match.
