I am the MOG and hosting the rehearsal dinner. My brother, who is a professional, is providing the wedding video as a wedding gift. He would like to be at the rehearsal to check lighting and camera placement. His son (18) will be helping with this, as this will be a two-camera shoot. Should my brother and his family be invited to the rehearsal dinner? They will be coming from out of town for the wedding. We are not inviting other out of town family to the dinner unless they are part of the wedding party, as this would make the guest list over 150.

Dear MOG,

Normally he wouldn't be invited. But, he is family and providing this service for free. So, if the couple would like for them to be invited and you, as host, agrees, then it is fine. His entire family would be invited if so.

Best wishes,

150 guests for the rehearsal dinner is a lot. Only the people actually involved in the wedding ceremony, their significant others and any parents of kids in the wedding need to be invited. Sometime close family members are invited as well. But 150 guests is more like a reception.

Thank you for your help.

The guest list is around 40 right now, not 150. 150 would be the number if we invited all out of town family like my brother. I realize this would be way to many. I just wasn't sure if I should invite my brother and his family because of the service he is providing and he will be at the church rehearsal. You help has answered the question. [:)]
