In as small of a nutshell as I can fit it....My fiance and I are sending out 225 invitations. We both travel extensively with our jobs, so sticking to timelines is essential to us in preparing for our wedding. We have a wedding planner who referred us to a woman who does stationary. We picked the invitation and provided the detailed wording for the invitation, RSVP card, RSVP envelope, and outer envelope. We also indicated the color and font for each of these items. The first proof was emailed to us to review (please note, it was a black and white email - no color), and corrections were required on the formatting of the invitation(which the stationary woman did also notice). A proof was also sent of the RSVP card and RSVP envelope, but not the outer envelope. The requested changes were submitted. A second proof, of only the invitation, was emailed to us to review, with the correct changes made. We OK'd this invitations. Within a day, we realized that our pastor would not be able to make it to the ceremony by the time we had originally planned (6pm), but could be there by 6:30. Immediately, we contacted the stationary lady, who informed us that she had already taken care of it. I picked up the invitations yesterday and discovered the following:

-The return address on BOTH the outer envelope and RSVP envelope are incorrect ('225...' instead of '255...'_)

-The color of the text on the invitations is silver, when it was requested to be black

-The time on the invitation reads as 'half after six o'clock in the evening' which sounds weird to me - I would have assumed it would be 'half PAST six o'clock in the evening'. The planner says that either way is acceptable. My mother and bridesmaids agree that 'half-past'sounds better. The bottom line is this - manufacturer will reprint the cards at their expense (because the color was wrong) but if the wording is changed, they will be reprinted at the expense of the stationary lady. Personally, I think that is crazy (they are reprinting them ANYWAY), but these cards weren't cheap and I would feel a little guilty if she had to eat the cost herself. She is already having to cover the cost of reprinting the outer envelopes (because we were never given a proof) and overnight shipping. She will not cover the cost of the RSVP envelopes because she did send a proof of this with the first (but not the SECOND) invitation proof that we were asked to give the 'OK' on.

I really don't want to turn into a 'bridezilla' or anything - I am actually a pretty easy-going person! I just would appreciate some advice on how to handle this in an appropriate way. Primarily, how should the wording of the time of the ceremony (6:30) be typed out? An informal poll shows 5-0 favor of the 'half-past...' and I have only been able to locate one site online that suggests using 'half after...'

Help! I've wasted too much time being angry about this!

This is just the thing you're paying your wedding planner to handle. Please discuss this with the planner.

Peggy Post says:

half after two o'clock

or half past two o'clock

Either are correct.
