How to place wedding favors on tables

I am having a favor which is intended per family, or per couple, or per single household. The favor could be put out as is, on tables, or placed in a favor box or favor bag. I would like to put them on the tables by place settings as is, as they could be part of the decoration theme, but wonder how many would be left behind if quest forget to take them. What would be the best way to distribute these?

Placing them on the tables would be your most effective option and very few guests forget their favor.
