Hi,

My understanding is that in a wedding announcement one does not include the name of a deceased parent. Is this correct?

Is it correct that I can say either, Mrs. Jane R. Doe or Ms. Jane R. Doe or Mrs. Robert S. Doe (if Robert has been deceased for 20 years and Jane never remarried?)

Thanks

MNKessler

Dear Mnkessler,

Yes, all of these are fine. And, you are correct. Those who have passed can't announce. However, if this is a newspaper announcement, we can list the father as: also the son of the late... .

Best wishes,
