I love tie-dye, and was hoping to incorporate in into my wedding somehow. The wedding ceremony is formal, the reception is more semi-formal. I was thinking about taking off my veil from the ceremony and replacing it with a tie-dye veil for the reception. Is this idea absolutely ridiculous or is it at all a good idea?

I don't suppose there is any rule against a tie-dyed veil, but I do HAVE to think there is somwhere this could be more effectively and appropriately incorporated - in your favors, or your printed goods, maybe? Even in a specialty linen on a favor tablr or gift table. Ultimately, the wedding has to reflect you, - but be careful of alientating your guests with something too "out there". How would your fiance feel about it?

I completely agree. Plus, all elements should be in the same formality so as not to be confusing. Tie-dye is typically considered very informal. But, I do agree that it may not appear so on linens or paper items.
