2 wks before the wedding & I have a couple of dresses selected. Neither are solid, though not distinctive patterns. One is a strapless, though not overexposed knee length, with printed small silk ovals, empire waist with beading at waist. Another selection is a muted abstract silk below knee with straps. I am not drawn to solid dresses & feel like I have excellent advice from Nordstrom's special event salespeople. The plan in coordination with MOB is only pertaining to length of dress. Since I don't stand on the platform at any point, I really don't want to buy a dress that doesn't fit my clothing style.

We need to have more information regarding the style of the mother of the bride's dress. You should be coordinating your style and color of dress with hers. Match the formality (but not more formal than the MOB) with regard to length and type of fabric. Many salespeople do not know this. Plus, a strapless dress is never a good choice for a mother of any age since that style tends to draw attention away from the bride.
