Wearing engagement ring and enhancer before wedding

Is it poor etiquette to have solitare engagement ring and enhancer soldered and worn together throughout engagement period?

If the "enhancer" is to be the wedding band then it should not be worn until the wedding day when it will be slipped on the bride's finger. You can have the band soldered afterwards. If this will not be your wedding band, and the entire ring is the engagement ring, then it should be worn on the left hand and switched over to the right on the wedding day.
