While working out details of my bridal shower, my mother in law told my maid of honor that she needed to invite all the women from my Fiancee's family to the bachelorette party in order "not to offend anyone." I am okay with his family but do not want to spend that night with his mom and aunts. (awkward) When my maid of honor suggested this could be uncomfortable for me his mom stated that she would be offended if she was not invited and stated "I can party like the rest of the girls!" She does hold a grudge for a longggg time, what can I do? the wedding is 12 weeks away and the party 8 weeks. Help!

Dear Jazzegirl,
It may be best if your MOH informs her that according to etiquette standards, mothers and the women in the groom's family are not usually invited, especially the MOG. This is supposed to be a party for you and your girlfriends. Sometimes the mother of the bride may attend just because she may be the bride's best friend.
Let your MOH be the bad guy here. [:)]
Best wishes,
