I really don't want my mother and father bickering over who does the speech I perfer my maid of honor to do a speech instead, is this alright? I really don't want my parents bickering on my big day thinking that I love one more then other.

Dear KittyKat,

The only required toast is the Best Man, I often have weddings where the best man and maid of honor both make toasts. To help your situation, you can tell your parents that the toasts will be given by the best man and maid of honor. This will hopefully prevent them from grabbing the mic and adding their own.

Remember when you are being toasted, you do not drink.

I agree with Nancy. Ask your Best Man and Maid of Honor to do toasts, and simply leave the toasting to them. If your parents bring it up and insist, have them both do a short toast.
