My mother is getting married (2nd marriage) and I am hosting a shower for her and want to know of some ideas that we can do (games) -- she is 47 years old.

Also, I would love to get her something special and give it to her on the wedding day - any ideas?

I suggest that you do a search online for Bridal games you can play. That's what I did and people had alot of fun.

As for a gift, you know her better than almost anyone else.

When my mom got married, she had written a genealogy book of our family history. Its sold all over the world. I decided that I was going to give her an extra special gift so I bought wooden book covers. Then I found images I wanted to woodburn on it and spent months on it. On the front is a sailing ship from the 1400's (our family arrived in North America in 1498 or around thereabouts), the title of the book and ivy climbing the sides of the front cover. The inside of the front cover is an image of a map from the 1400's and on the inside of the back cover is an image of a modern day map. The back cover has our family coat of arms. She loved it so much that she cried.

I imagine that you know what your mom likes and what would be important to her heart. Think of a gift that would work well for something that is important to her. It doesn't have to be expensive or anything.
