As recently as yesterday, my sister came up to me and voiced a concern over whether or not the MOH has indicated that she will be looking to have costs split with the bridesmaids. I've read several responses about this sort of thing, but I would like something for my own piece of mind. Is my sister wrong for being somewhat reluctant to pay for the shower, considering that the MOH did not involve any of the bridesmaids prior to the shower? As a matter of fact, not only did they not know that they'd be expected to kick some cash, but they did not assist in the planning of the shower at all. What does etiquette indicate? My sister is a bridesmaid. How should she handle being asked for money if it is ON the day of the shower...this upcoming Saturday (9/20)? I don't like being put in the middle here, as it is a VERY uncomfortable situation.

Bridal shower chaos...for the groom

Dear Groom Greg -
We've addressed this same issue here in the forum many times. Please ask your sister to visit and to leave you out of the discussion. The bride and groom shouldn't be burdened with hosting and money issues for an event being planneed for them.
Best Wishes,
