My one bridesmaid is planning on moving to Texas between now and my wedding. We live in New Jersey and, while the wedding isn't for a year and a half, I'm still confused about when to have her pick out, purchase and come for dress alterations. Is there a possibility of being able to do all of that during a week or two (obviously a lot closer to the wedding date) or do these things take months to work on? [pirate] She definitely wants to be my bridesmaid regardless of whee she lives.

Is there a way to get it done within two weeks or so? How far in advance can it be done?

This does not have to be an ordeal. She can purchase a dress where she lives and take care of all of the alterations. If you have a particular dress in mind, send her the information and she can take it to a local bridal shop and have the dress shipped there.
