I have very short hair, but plenty of time before my wedding to grow it a little, even into a little bob if I wanted. I'm torn what to do about it and would love any suggestions in regards to hairstyle and hair accessories. I'm not planning on wearing a veil.

What really matters is what you will be wearing and where and what time of day is the wedding/reception? Do you have your gown yet? The gown will give direction to the hairstyle. Tell me more about your wedding plans and I would love to help you with your hair and headpiece options.

That's funny, I commented on my dress choice and that was edited out of my post.

I haven't decided for sure on a dress style, but I am thin, with a small chest and was thinking that a strapless would be a good choice with my body type and very short hair. What do you think? I also have nice shoulders, but I don't want to feel naked with such short hair and that option.

Sorry - that comment was edited out since you were asking for dress style advice which would be another category/expert area. What you've mentioned here, in this past post, is perfectly acceptable information that our hair expert needs to have in order to properly answer your original question. But, if you need more help with the style, please post that in the wedding attire forum.

Thanks.

With regards to appropriate hair style, Gretchen is the top expert! As to hair accessories, I have attached a few photos for you. One of my clients with very short hair, had a very original headpiece which I want you to see. I am also attaching photos of beautiful sparkly hair combs that I usually recommend to brides with short hair to accentuate and glamorize their look even without a veil. Enjoy the wedding!

Yes when looking for a hairstyle the whole person and body type needs consideration to present a balanced look. If you choose a fitted narrow strapless make sure to have some texture on the gown or at least some rouching or gathering of material near the chest area to fill it out visually. Then your hair could also be kept narrow, maybe tucked behind the ear with one of the great combs Irina suggested. What time of year is the wedding and what will the weather be? If you choose a fuller wider gown you will need width in your hair or veiling to balance the look. Maybe a stacked bob. Is your hair curly, wavy or straight? Do you like to use products in your hair? Are you a sparkle girl or lean to a natural look? Some times with short hair the focus will be on amazing jewelry. A stunning choker or chandelier earrings. Some times it will be a tiara. Try to answer some more of these questions and we will be sure to find your look.
