I'm having about a 65-75 guests reception in a banquet room at a nice restaurant in town. There is a small section of the room where there is wood floors, which would work for dancing. However, the area is rather small, probably 6x8 feet at the most, and hidden in an awkward part of the room (corner, hidden behind a pillar).
I'm contemplating putting some tables where the so-called dance floor is and using a part of the carpeted floor for the dancing area. Is it unusual to have a dance floor on an unmarked, carpeted area of a room.
