My fiance and I are doing an online wedding registry that is for your honeymoon. Guests can pick out elements of your honeymoon to buy for you- night at the hotel, romantic dinner, tickets to a site, etc (varying price ranges of course). We find this to be great for 3 reasons:

1. I think it's creative and more meaningful to us. After all, they are getting us amazing honeymoon memories.

2. It will help us in the cost of our honeymoon, which we are paying for ourselves.

3. We have been living together for a year now, so we don't need anything for our home. Anything we were lacking, our families got us for Christmas.

Would it be okay to have only the honeymoon registry and no traditional gift registry?

Dear WolfSpirit,

We have many posts concerning this issue, albeit old ones. So, it may help to read through them.

Although the honeymoon registry is deemed "appropriate" many find them tacky and pretentious--as if you feel that your guests would want to pay for a holiday for you because you are marrying. So, we always suggest allowing for this and including another registry just in case. However, a registry is not mandatory, in fact many do not give a gift from the registry, especially these days.

So, bottom line, you can have you registry as it stands now. But, don't get too upset if you don't receive much. Many guests may not want to fund your honeymoon.

Best wishes,

Ok, thanks. I must have missed the others when I searched. I'll try to find them again. Thank you.
