My fiance and I are shopping around for rings and I found an antique one that I just adore. It is THE ring. The only problem is that the wedding band is already soldered on to the engagement ring. We aren't going to be married for another year, so would it be inappropriate for me to wear it as it is? Would it be worth it to remove the band then reattach it? We don't have a whole lot of cash to spend on jewelery extras and I don't want to damage the ring. How should I proceed?

Typically we wouldn't wear the wedding ring before the wedding. But, when it is already attached, it is fine.
