Can we send invitation for reception only for a destination wedding?

I am planning destination wedding in Hawaii on the beach, but I am really looking at a small intimate wedding ceremony, maybe only 10 to 15 people. But I am also planning on having the reception there. Can I send reception only invitations to other guests?

Dear GirlRok,


If you were hosting this reception at home this would be fine. But, since this will be a destination wedding where you are inviting guests who must travel, they would want to be invited to the entire event. It wouldn't be fair to invite them to only the reception.
