What is the farthest distance allowed between wedding and reception?

Dear CPBTX,
There is no set rule on this as it wouldn't work in all situations. There is only one rule: treat your guests as if they are important by being a good host. This entails considering your guest's comfort and being fair. So, objectively ask yourself if the reception site is too far from the wedding site. Do they have to drive far? If so, then it isn't fair to them. This is also one of the reasons we don't, or at least shouldn't, host the events hours apart. It isn't fair for our guests to have to wait for the reception to begin.
