First let me thank you and say this web site has answered so many questions already! What a wonderful website you have.
My fiancé and I are having a winter wedding on ice. (Although there will be plenty of room on the banks for those unaccustomed to ice.) As I am a seamstress I will be making both my attire, as well as my fiancé’s attire. My dress will be a red WWII era two piece (pop collar and all) made out of lightweight wool. My skirt will be very full and my jacket very fitted. I intend to wear a vintage brown hat and short gloves. As for shoes I am still clueless. I am 5'10" and my fiancé is 6'5".
All of this leads to the following question(s): Should my fiancé wear a top hat and how long, if any, should the tails on his jacket be? Also must I wear my wedding dress to the reception or is a dress change allowed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
