champagne colored wedding dress for first wedding

I come from a very conservative/traditional background and was thinking ivory for the wedding, but now I am in love with champagne- Is it looked upon as unacceptable for a first wedding? I am afraid 'purity' of white is still held onto by his ethnic family..

Ivory or off-white is acceptable to most since white symbolized joy rather than purity. If you love the champagne or ivory color, go for it.
