Which is the most reputable lab from which to get a diamond grading report? A lot of folks in other forums suggest GIA and AGS more than others, and in the other post GIA was recommended. That leads me to ask: What makes GIA a "better" lab than the others? I don't at all doubt that it is, but I would like to know why it is so. Does GIA have stricter grading standards?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance! :)

Hi,

Yes, GIA is without doubt the most reliable and respected diamond grading report you can obtain today.

They have very strict standards and can count on their reports as extremely accurate.

But expect to pay more for that kind of accuracy, in most cases. You can get non-certified diamonds of the same quality for less. The only difference is that you do not have the 100% assurance of a grading report.

You can get more information about GIA on their website.

That's excellent! Thank you :)

It wouldn't be an issue to pay more...I'd much rather do that than not have a grading report at all. I'll definitely take a look at the website. Thanks for your help!
