I'm the mother of the groom planning a rehearsal dinner. I probably have many questions, but what I really need to know is if I should do a small favor for the guest. We are having 41 and I read that I shouldn't have place cards, so if I did something it would have to be good for both sexes. I have no idea what I'm doing.

The rehearsal dinner should be much less formal than the wedding reception. No favors or place cards needed for informal family events such as the rehearsal dinner.
