Can I just start with this is an amazing site and I wish I had found it sooner in my wedding planning. I have read many of the posts already but still have a few questions/concerns. I think we are in a unique situation and would love any and all help in making the plans. We wanted to just keep it simple, and have planned to go to the justice of the peace. We have been to the county clerk and know the cost and what documentation we will need. They also gave us a list of those that can perform the service, but I’m not sure what the normal service is, for example the vows if any. I have been to weddings before but never seen a justice ceremony. Any insight into the ceremony or what we should address with the justice when we make the appointment would be great. The idea is to have part the family and a handful of close friends there. Can we have guest at the justice ceremony? I know we need witnesses but we were told two. Then afterward we were planning to go to dinner with the group and then that night hit a local club. That way all our friends can meet us to celebrate if they chose but the ceremony is more private. We weren’t planning actual invitation but announcements after the fact. Is there an etiquette we need to be concern with? We live in New Mexico, with his family, my mother, stepfather, and younger brother, but the rest of my family lives all over the country. There is large portion of my family in Minnesota, and my father had offered to hold a reception for us there since he and most of the family won’t be here for the ceremony. We won’t be renewing vows or anything but I have read quite a few posts about double ceremonies and want to avoid any confusion. But would it be wrong to wear the sundress I have purchased for the ceremony again for the reception in Minnesota? Any suggestions on how we might make those in Minnesota feel less left out, since they weren’t at the ceremony?

Wow - this is a lot of information. It would be best if you could break this down into a couple of different posts, each having it's own ONE question to which we could reply. That way we can send each question to the proper expert(s).
