As MOG, I have huge responsibilities at home caring for my husband who is a quadriplegic and elderly M-I-L who has Alzheimer's while working a full time job. It is three weeks until the military wedding and I haven't sent out the rehearsal dinner invitations. The wedding is going to be at a beach house with the reception on site to follow. The rehearsal dinner is going to be at a local restaurant where my husband's wheelchair can be accomodated.
How tacky is it to send an email invitation to each guest with a request for an email or phone call RSVP in regards to their dinner choice. Signed, Behind the power curve!

Email invitations for an informal event like a rehearsal dinner can be fine, but the problem with email is it can be unreliable. Some people don't read their email in a timely manner, some hurry and delete without being careful to really read it, some may never read it and some may not even have email!

I know you're probably home bound and cannot get out to buy invitations, but could you call the guests to invite them or maybe print out some invitations and mail them?

I hope you're finding ways to take care of the caregiver too! It's a very demanding (physically and emotionally) job.

All the best,

Excellent suggestions and I would also suggest that your son help you with this event.

Great advice, Nancy. Why didn't I think of that? I'm going to have to make certain my son helps me with the rehearsal dinner too.
