My cousin is having a beach wedding in one week. They asked me today if my 19 month old could be in the wedding as one of the ring bearers. They just now asked because they didn't know my little guy was walking. At first I said yes, and I got online to try to find him something to wear. I don't think I could order it and it get here in time before we leave for the wedding. I also don't think he is going to cooperate wedding day. So, I called them back and asked if he could be an honorary ring bearer. They are ok with that. Did I do the right thing under the circumstances?

I'm not sure what an honorary ring bearer is, but I think you did what you felt best as mom. Mom's know best about whether their child can perform. An 18 month old just walking isn't too reliable for walking or for not breaking into tears when he sees a room full of guests.
Attend and enjoy.

You absolutely did the right thing. You know your son best, and you might have just saved the bride from quite a bit of stress by not having him featured in the wedding. More times than not the bride doesn't quite understand what she is asking when she wants any child that young to "be in her wedding", and when it comes down to the wedding day pressure she cracks when the child either cries or runs, which is what any of them normally will do.
