I am planning a Spring garden wedding. My matron of honor and bridesmaids will be wearing pastel colors. My fiance wants the groomsmen, ushers, and himself to wear seersucker suits. I have never heard of this before, and I wondered if this is appropriate.

To me, that would be a little too casual even for a garden wedding! Let's see what the etiquette expert says on the subject, but I would try to convince your fiancee that light-color jacket and/or white shirt and beige or Khaki pants would be more appropriate.

I have not heard anyone mention seersucker since I was a child. I didn't even know they made seersucker suits for adults (though I just saw some online so I now know they do) but if the wedding is informal, and usually outdoor garden weddings are, I'd say it could work. Though, it would not be my choice of fabric for men's wedding attire no matter how informal.

I agree that it could work, but there are much better options. His suits should match the formality of the wedding and your dress.
