What is proper? I am the mother of the groom - I have (3) sisters and (1) brother, I was asked for names and addresses for "our side" of the family which I gave. My son refuses to invite an aunt and uncle (By the way they are his Godparents)due to an incident that happened 9 years ago with OUR parents. I think this will cause some serious issues within the family and that he should invite them - he refuses. So the next request was then please do not invite any of my sisters or brother so that the drama doesn't happen. Do you think either request is wrong?

Mom - I know this is tough to do, believe me, but you have to hang back and let the chips fall where they may for your son. It is his wedding to plan. All you can do is make suggestions and explain what the consequences might be. If he's mature enough to be married, he';s mature enough to make decisions and live with the results.

Good luck holding back. Hope he makes the right decisions.

I agree. The couple has their reasons and it is their wedding to plan.
