My 17 year old son is escorting me down the aisle. I'm looking for verbiage on what the officiant can ask him. Basically, I want my son to have the opportunity to express his approval of our marriage. Any ideas?

It would be more approriate to ask your your son's blessing.
Just before your vows, your officiant will ask you and your groom to join hands. At that point, he/she could ask your son to come forward and say, "Your mother and (name of groom) would like your blessing on this marriage. Do you bless this union?" He would say "Yes, I do." Then your officiant could add, "Then please place your right hand upon their joined hands." A silent blessing could follow, or your officant could add his/her own words.
May it be blessed!
