We are planning our wedding and thought about having a hot air balloon ride towards the end of the reception. We would take off from the site and be gone 1hr 1/2. We have planned for a live band and children's games while we are gone and to continue reception after we get back. Is this a really bad idea?

Besides sounding really scary :o LOL, it really wouldn't be polite to take off during the party you're hosting. But, if you want to have a really cool exit, this seems like a good one!

I totally agree. It is best to remain with your guests and utilize the hot air balloon as a really unique exit. Don't forget that the weather would have to cooperate and rather take the risk, if it doesn't work out weather wise..use bubbles or one of the other traditional exits..

Excellent advice. Plus, if all goes well and this will be your ultimate exit, you might want to go easy on the sparkling wine
