My daughter has 2 bridesmaids and MOH. The MOH and 1 bridesmaid have floor length dresses. Due to the bridal shop's error, 1 bridesmaid has an above knee length dress. There is no time to change this. How will this work? will it work. Should the short dress go down the aisle first? HELP!

Wow - that seems like something the bridal shop really needs to make right for you. What does your contract say? What did the bridal shop owner say? I would think that, at the very least, they would offer some sort of concession to you by adjusting the cost or free alterations, etc. But, I digress. You want to know if the different lengths can work.

Have you considered making the other dresses short (or leave the MOH long) so that they all match? Can the MOH and bridesmaid switch so the MOH has the short dress (I realize the chances they are both the same size is slim). If that doesn't work for you or doesn't match the level of formality of your wedding then I'd say make it work.

Excellent advice; if the bridal shop doesn't have time to fix the error, have them make the other bridesmaid's dress the same length - shorten it, and leave the MOH in the floor-length dress. Acceossorise the Bridesmaids' to the hilt to draw attention to their hair, jewelry, shoes (consider putting sparkling details on the shoes) - add major sparkle, and you will succeed in convincing everybody that this was the original "intended" look for the girls. Good luck!

Excellent advice! Accessories can help the shorter dresses appear more formal like the long dress. That is the main goal: to have all attire the same formality (or at this point as close as possible).

Great advice by the other experts. If there is enough time, the bridal shop should take care of this mistake with the manufacturer. Review your contract and if it is the shop's responsibility, they should be contacting the manufacturer asap- I have re-made dresses for shops in a week before due to a serious emergency. Also, if you have less than a week, I would definitely consider having the bridal shop shorten all the gowns and allowing the MOH to wear a floor length, or vice-versa if she can swap gowns and wear the short. And DEFINITELY accessorize!!
