Recently, my niece was married. My husband and I are her Godparents. We arrived in town for the wedding a day early to bring her grandmother (my mother) to the rehearsal dinner. After dropping off my mother to the rehearsal, my husband and I went out to dinner alone. I feel totally left out and hurt. Should I be?

I'm sorry you felt left out. The rehearsal dinner is usually only for those who need to rehearse (those actually in the wedding). Once you begin making exceptions there is no way to say one relative is invited and another is not. That's the reason most keep the list to only those invoked in the wedding which would include the parents, grandparents, bridal party and spouses.
