Who Needs to Match Groom?

I will be having a formal, evening (6pm), winter wedding. There is one best man, but no groomsmen. My groom has expressed that he would like to be the only one wearing a tux. Is this okay? How should the best man match him? Also, do the two dads have to match the groom in style or color (one dad wants to wear a charcoal gray suit)? Thank you in advance!

For a formal wedding the men in the wedding party should all be dressed in black tuxedos.

Yes. I agree. Traditionally all men in the wedding wear tuxedos.

Yes, for a formal evening wedding tuxedos are the attire of choice and the dads and groomsmen should wear the same tuxedo as the groom. However, if the groom would like to stand apart fro the other men he can choose different colors and styles for his accessories.
