Hi There,
I live in Canada and just booked my destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort in Cuba for a year from now. Travel agent has held 30 rooms at the resort we chose at an early booking special rate. A deposit must be paid within 90 days and entire amount must be paid by March (4 months from now)from each guest. I am in a bit of a panic and confusion and don't know how I should explain this to people. I was planning on sending out invitations now with an enclosure card with the details of the early booking special, however I am reading on other forums that only save the date should be sent a year in advance and invitations sent 2 months in advance. Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Early Booking Special for Destination Weddings

Dear Destinationbride,
Send the save the dates with all the information about your agent so they can make their arrangements with her/him. You could state on the enclosure you send with the save the date that a special rate is available for those who book early.
These are not supposed to be invitations, so an RSVP shouldn't be included.
Another option is to contact all those you wish to invite and speak to them about your plans and the early booking option.
Best wishes,

Thanks for the tip Rebecca.. I took your advice and sent the save the dates with the enclosure cards. I am not faced with another small dilemma. Some people have started to tell me, and/or tell my immediate family, that they are not going to be able to make it, Should I still send them the actual invitations a few months before the wedding?

Yes, you still need to send those invitations since people change their plans all the time. It's best to hear from them directly.
