I found a wedding venue that has 2 rooms, but one is very small and the other one is a good size. I would like to have the wedding and reception at the same spot, however, the seating would be reception style during the ceremony. Is that tacky? How would this seating work?

I am not sure if you want to know about using both rooms for the ceremony and reception? And does that mean you will have guests seated in both rooms where some may not see either the reception or the ceremony?

I think she wants to know if she can have the ceremony in the same room as the reception, using the same tables and seating for the ceremony as she will use for the typical reception.

If what you are asking is can you have the ceremony and the reception in the same room with the tables already set up, that can be done, it is not ideal but can be done. If you need both rooms for this wedding, I would not recommend that.

The seating that will work best is basic round tables moved to the side so there is some space for an aisle. Ask the facility to only seat the rounds as "half moons" or just set the chairs around the back of the table so that everyone is facing the "altar" and able to view the ceremony. This would allow for all of the chairs to be facing forward, your aisle and both options are easy enough that switching things around for the reception seating would only take a few minutes. While this isn't optimal, it is an option that people use when they are working with limited spacing.
Good luck!

Great advice! And, it isn't tacky to do this. No etiquette rules broken here.
