I am wondering if there is a proper way of addressing the return address on the invitations, save the date etc? My son and his fiance do not live together and have done their return addresses: her name and his name using her return address. I have no problem with this and tend to think it is correct, but my inlaws think it is totally wrong and are making a huge issue of this. If you could settle this issue for me I would be so greatful.

Dear Auntyb,
I don't know why they'd be upset. It's fine. Any address could be used. The address should be on the person who is keeping track of the invitations. It is also, usually the address of the person who will be "accepting" the wedding gifts sent by guests.
Best wishes,

I agree and hope that our confirmation will settle the issue for you.

If I am understanding this question correctly, you are talking about the return address on the back flap of the invitation and/or the save-the-date cards. If so, in my experience the return address is just the address itself, no names. Like so:
101 Smith Street
Monroe, Louisiana 71202
I hope this helps!

The return address, as per the post office, must be on the front of the envelope now http://www.usps.com/...ectaddress.htm. They don't mention anything about using a name, but they show it in the photo so I think it's expected.
