What is the etiquette on having a small destination wedding and a large at home reception? We are having a small ceremony in Las Vegas with only immediate family in attendance. Two weeks after the ceremony we are having a large reception at home, inviting everyone we would have invited had we had the ceremony at home. Are bachelor/bachelorette parties and showers in poor taste in this situation?

Only the guests invited to the wedding (the wedding is the ceremony) should be invited to a pre-wedding party such as a bachelorette party or shower. If the wedding is going to be pretty small, and this sounds like the case for you, then these parties probably don't make sense for you.
