My fiance and I are getting married in August on a lake at a very nice country club. We spent so much money on the place & entertainment now we are on a very tight budget for food. Our wedding will be at 7pm and we will have a soft jazz band playing while dinner is served. We were thinking spaghetti or a taco bar, buffett style. What do you think? I am open to other ideas as well.

Thanks!

This can happen from time to time and you need to let the banquet manager know your restriction on the budget and see what they suggest. Spaghetti would probably be okay but I wonder how a red sauce would go over if spilled or splashed onto formal wear. Also tacos would be a rather messy to eat at a formal affair. Use the expertise of the banquets department and enjoy.

I agree. And, the food should match the formality of your event; it's just another element of formality. So, keep this in mind.

String pasta is somewhat difficult to eat at a more formal setting. So, it might be better to choose a ravioli or tortellini instead if you want a pasta. But, I agree that the banquet management should be able to advise you well.
