hi,
Im not really sure how to answer this question. My Husband to Be is French. We are getting married in US but plan to move back to France after the marriage. I was wondering what to do about the gift registery. It seems kindof impersonal to ask for only cash, but it will be very difficult and expensive for us to take all the gifts we recieve back to France with us. What is something that has the convience of cash but is more personal like an actual gift? Should I try to make some kind of international registry where guests can shop online and have the items shipped directly to France? Maybe register for some Gift Checks?im not really sure what to do? Any ideas?

Merci

Certainly try to find international registries or a registry that will ship to France. But remember that only the guests attending the destination wedding would be obligated to send a gift. Be sure to be prepared for any guests who send you a gift or even bring one to the wedding (which shouldn't be done, but some do!). Plan top package and ship these yourselves before you go back or make arrangements to have someone in the states do this for you.

We never register for cash gifts. It's as you say, impersonal.

Great advice as always. I completely agree.
