Hello! I am going shopping tomorrow morning for bridesmaid dresses with my four bridesmaids. My wedding is July 2nd and it is a traditional formal wedding. I would like my bridesmaid dresses to be full length with pick ups as my dress has pick ups. My future sister in law who I have asked to be a bridesmaid is suggesting dresses that are tea length, rather plain and have a halter top. Is it ok that I would like floor length dresses during the summer? Is it ok to have a differing opinion than the bridesmaids? I'm nervous about tomorrow's dress shopping and that I will have this decision taken away from me by the bridesmaids...

It's nice if everyone can be happy with the bridesmaids dresses. Have some styles picked out a head of time but consider all of the bridesmaids figures with the choice, but if you're set on floor length dresses then stick by that decision and give the bridesmaids other choice. I usually recommend choosing a couple of colors and several types of styles and let them choose what looks best - with your help.

Don't worry - enjoy the shopping.

Excellent advice, you select the basic oolor, style and length and they stay within your desires. Thank your bridesmaids for their advice and do what you want.

Excellent advice from both experts. If your wedding is a formal affair, floor-length dresses are entirely appropriate. Stick to your vision, but give your bridesmaids some options within your vision.

I agree. It is best and most fair, especially since your bridesmaids will be purchasing these dresses, if all feel comfortable with their dresses. But, ultimately, you are in charge.
