My daughter is getting married on September 3rd at 7:00pm. it is an outside wedding. Her dress is white with a silver sequined accent around the waist. The brides maids dresses are brown and have a sash with a silver "buckle" in the front. Their dresses are knee length. I have found a knee length gold (sparkly) with a matching jacket. Will that be ok with the silver in all the girls dresses? Also I would prefer something longer length. Could I wear tea length or stick with the knee length?

Dear Genna,

I'm not the style expert. But, the gold sounds perfect to me. Gold and brown blend. As for the length, knee length would be best since the bridesmaids' dresses are such. But, dress length is just one element of formality. If you found a dress a bit longer and yet in the same formality as the bridesmaids' dresses, it would be fine.

Best wishes,

Totally agree with Rebecca! Gold will go well with brown of the bridesmaids' dresses; silver buckle is just an accessory! You can wear jewelry that incorporates both gold tones and silver tones, to "blend in". If you will still be searching for a longer (tea length) dress, you might also want to go for gold tone dress with silver detailing. Enjoy the wedding!

Love the replies you already got. I just wanted to mention something that I experienced when choosing my MOG dress for my son's wedding. I selected a tea length dress even though the bridesmaids has a knee length dress because the MOB chose floor length and because the bridesmaids' dresses were taffeta, so a little more formal even though knee length. But, when I was trying n the dress I couldn't figure out why I wasn't over the moon with it, even though everyone said it was great. One of our expert seamstresses here on the forum suggested that tea length for my 5' 2" frame might be overwhelming me. So, once shortened to an inch of two below the know, I was happy.

So,if you're short, consider the length and cut of the dress too.
