My fiance and I have had 2 main dilemmas with our whole wedding planning [unsure]. Food and Children. We have no idea what kind of food we want to have - we didn't really like the previously done menus by our caterer (they were way too fancy for our tastes) so they agreed to let us create our own menu to suit our needs, but we have no idea what to pick! We dont like fancy things, anyone have any ideas?

Also we are having an evening wedding with a dinner reception and have A LOT of families (most have atleast 2 kids) coming from out of town, we dont want to discourage kids from coming, but that is A LOT of kids to be around an "adult" party. We are getting married in a hotel and my changing room is a hotel room that we have for the whole evening. We were talking about hiring an adult babysitter (or a few) to watch the kids upstairs in the room and have pizza ordered for them and have movies and games. We didn't know how that would come across to the families? Does that sound like something that parents might frown upon and think that we dont want their kids around?[blush] Please help with any suggestions or ideas you might have! Thank you

Christine

That sounds like a good plan with the kiddies! It doesn't really matter what the parent's think; if you feel there will be too many children and this is your choice of how to handle it then they can either leave the children home or they can choose to have them there in the special room. Perhaps you can let everone know, by word of mouth, that althopugh you just love kids, there are just too many children to accommodate. Who knows, some parents may welcome the alone time and diversion for their children.

Regarding the food menu...this is such a personal choice but ask your caterer for a list of suggestions to choose from, since they know sort of what you're looking for. Tell them you'd like a choice of some simply prepared foods such as (you insert your favorite entrees here).

Best of luck...
