I got this great book from the library and it's given me great tips and ideas on how to personalize our wedding. One way that I hadn't thought of was through our wedding favors. I came up with two good ideas. He's Anglo-saxon and I'm West Indian, so if we wanted to do a cultural thing, I suppose tea and some West Indian candy would be a good favor. Also, we met at work (hehe) in the library, and we both fancy writing. So I thought somehow that literature might be incorporated into the favors. But how? I'm caught up in purchasing the dress, so I'm running on empty for ideas right now. So, I turn to you wonderful ladies (and gentlemen?) for any assistance![:)]

Thanks so much!

To incorporate literature, how about a pretty book mark with a quote that both of you enjoy.

If you have the time and some help maybe you can do a home made little book with quotes from books that you love or a chapter of a book that you both enjoy.

(Think Martha Stewartesque).

Have Fun,

I love your idea about the bookmarks. But I have no idea where to get some printed up. I think that's a perfect idea for tying in our love affair with the written word. I should see if I can find a website for a printing place that can do that. Thanks!

You could make these yourself if you had the time and if you didn't have a lot of them to make. You could print one and then go to staples or a printing place and have them laser copied. Then cut them out, laminate and add a beautiful ribbon (could be personalized with your names) at the top.

For a centerpiece you could get large colorful square bottom gift bags, and place in them favors filled with tea and candy bound together with brightly colored West Indian styled scarves. Be sure to put enough favors in the bag to accommodate the number of chairs per table.

The filled bags with square bottoms would help stabilize the centerpiece, allowing you to place silk flowers matching your theme colors. To easily personalize, you could print your image on an 8x12 self sticking photo label and apply it to each of the bags, with a different quote or message from the heart for each table.

If you are writing your own wedding vows, you could incorporate your vows with the picture. The possibilities are endless.

If you will be having your guests seat at designated tables, you could use old fashioned library cards as name cards, or have your guests pull their names from a "library drawer" to determine where they will be sitting. The back of the cards could be printed with your names and wedding date. If you wanted, you could include a little history on the dewey decimal classification system - what a theme!

The main thing...... have a great time and enjoy![:)]

What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much.[;)] I love the library cards idea! You're right. There are so many ways to make the whole thing personalized.
